From Metsovo to Vourgareli

Dasiko Chorio and Kataraktes, a memorable experience

This is the second part of a trilogy.  Three distinct long distance tracks traversing West Greece from East Zagori, down to Kremaston Lake next near Karpenisi, Evritania.

Egnatia highway, near Metsovo, is the starting point of this track; exactly where the first part East Zagori ends.

From Metsovo we started our descending (latitude wise).  We traversed south, east of Peristeri mountain, then east of Karkaditsa, and finally at Tzoumerka.

We had an overnight stay at the unique “Dasiko Chorio” near the famous Kataraktes (waterfalls) village.  Next morning, before start your southbound trip, do not forget to pay a visit to the waterfalls, where is the end of a sort asphalt road leading on site.

Eventually get prepared to farewell Epirus, reaching Vourgareli village.  This is the end of the second part of our trilogy.

Follows the last track leading from Vourgareli to Kremaston Lake, and via Fidakia to Karpenisi, Evritania.
